Today my friends, we're talking about makeup primers! I know we've all skipped using a primer now and then but let this be your friendly reminder NOT to skip this important step!
Think of your makeup primer as your best friend who's always got your back!
This is literally how I view my primer lol.
Your primer has your back - or more like your skin, and acts as a protective barrier between you and your makeup and the outside world full which is full of impurities.
So with that in mind, its kind of a no brainer - we all need a good makeup primer!
Okay, so now you might be asking, how do you pick out the best makeup primer?
There are so many options out there! But they are not all the best option for YOU. Its important to consider your skin type and your goals - and thats exactly what we'll be talking about today!
The Best Makeup Primer for Oily Skin
For those of you who struggle with oily skin, I'll say this first: DRINK MORE WATER and EAT MORE FRUIT! Hydrating your body is one of the best ways you can help your skin with excess oil production.
If you'd like some extra help with oil, then this is the primer for you!
Look no further if you want to control your oil! This product is AMAZING and creates an instant matte finish, controlling shine for up to 16 hours. Specifically formulated for combination or oily skin types, this primer will allow you to enjoy flawless makeup application and extended wear.
Makeup Primer for dry skin
Dry skin can be tough, especially in the winter.
One way I combat my dry skin is by exfoliating routinely at least once a week. But a good primer will definitely help seal in the moisture and protect your skin, no matter the season!
I'm a huge fan of Tarte products because they're natural and have minimal "extras" in them unlike a lot of other makeup products. This primer in particular keeps skin hydrated for 12 hours, improves foundation application & extends wear, helps prevent makeup from caking in lines or pores, and gives skin a smoother, plumper appearance!
