Today we’re talking about Christmas bedroom inspiration. I’ll be sharing some cozy details that transformed our bedroom and made me excited for the Holidays!
If you’ve been following along with our upstairs renovation project, you know we’re finally finished! Its been amazing seeing all the little details come together, set up furniture and add drapes, mirrors rugs etc.
Nightstands
I purchased these nightstands on Amazon. While I searched everywhere for nightstands I loved, I wasn’t ready to spend around that 1k mark per nightstand. SO I decided to go for these for $79 per. They are minimalistic, have some great storage and are larger than your average budget friendly nightstand. I loved the minimalistic handles but didn’t love the finish. As you can see, it looks like a cheep brass finish, super bright and yellow.
So….I did a little research and found these pulls from Schoolhouse with a beautiful antique finish. It may be hard to see from pictures, but trust me when I tell you it was worth it. I got my screw driver out and in about 10 min had the new hardware on!
The new pulls came with circular bases, but I decided not to add them. I wanted more of that minimalistic clean line look and I ‘m so happy with how they turned out!
Besides updating hardware, one of the easiest ways to add warmth to to your nightstands is to add a candle or candlesticks! Here, I added both! This candle from Lox and Company on Etsy is non-toxic and made from beeswax and essential oils. It smells absolutely amazing. We’ve been burning it every night and it is heavenly.
Curtains – the perfect bedroom holiday inspiration
Curtains in our upstairs have not only added privacy, but texture and color to our space. I added custom roman shades to the windows and then full length floor to ceiling curtains as an additional layer. I had to get creative because we have a circular window. Anyone have any good solutions for what to do for these? We have one in our master bedroom facing our main road and is directly across from our bed.
Originally I purchased sheer linen curtains which were really pretty. I realized I wanted a more sophisticated/moody vibe in our master suite and these brown velvet curtains did just that. They are perfect and right in time for the holidays.
I installed black curtain rods and used curtain loops with clips to attach the curtains.
If you need that little bit of holiday inspiration for your bedroom, take a look at your curtains. Swapping them out can be fairly inexpensive and a great way to add some texture and warmth to your space!
Bed – Add cozy bedding for the Holidays
I love our upholstered bed. The headboard was the perfect height for our slopped ceiling. This was probably the biggest factor in chosing this bed. It was also a more affordable option compared to other upholstered beds that I really liked which was a plus. I chose the color linen talc for the fabric and love it.
With the change of season I’ve been loving plaid comforters and found this gorgeous comforter on amazon. We love it so much and the dogs do too. It’s so soft, has a microfiber feel and is literally the coziest. I hope this comforter gives you some holiday inspiration for your bedroom and gets your wheels turning for ways to transition your space. It truly has transformed our space into a Christmas bedroom!
Pillows & Throw – Easiest Update for the Holidays
On top of our sleeping pillows, I layered two faux fur 26″x26″ pillows and two brown 22’x22′ boucle pillows. They both were pillow covers so I bought down pillow inserts to go inside. When buying inserts, I always try to buy 2″ larger than the pillow cover for fuller pillow corners. The throw blanket is so incredibly soft and its full size too, so covers the entire bed when stretched out. Pillows and throws are truly one of the easiest ways to swap decor out seasonally. Esepcially if you just buy pillow covers for your pillows, it can be fairly cost effective.
So here’s your sign to snag some cozy pillow covers and get your space feeling warm and cozy. Faux fur pillows and throw blankets are some of the easiest bedroom holiday inspiration out there!
Mirrors – Get ready for the Holiday by adding green garlands
I’ve been looking for an oversize mirror and found the perfect one this month. Its on sale this month too! It has a stand option as well as clips to hang it up on the wall. For the spot I placed it, it looked better if leaned against the wall without using the stand. Love how oversized (71″ x 31″) it is, it’s perfect and just what I was looking for. These green garlands are in my cart and cant wait to hang them up for some added holiday festivity.
I hope these ideas have stirred your creativity and helped you get in the Christmas spirit! Preparing for the holidays has so much meaning to me. Not only is it a magical time of year, but our family also celebrates the Birth of Jesus. And to me that is special. All the thought, time and details help create those lasting memories for years to come.
so Cheers to you creating a space filled with lots of
Peace, Joy & Love
